May 17: Holliston 9 Medway 8




Ben Levine earned the win in relief today He entered the bottom of the 5th inning with no outs and the bases loaded and struck out three batters sandwiched between one hit. Holliston jumped out to a 8-2 lead after three and played terrific defense the last two innings to secure the win. With the bases loaded and one out in the 6th, Ben enticed an inning ending double play. Connor Capobianco made a tough play at third base off of the Medway catcher's bat for the first out and Sean Mayo made a backhand play in the shortstop hole with the tying run on second base for the last out of the game. Leading the 14-hit attack for Holliston was Sean Mayo (3 hits, 2 triples, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI) and Brody Mankus (3 hits and a run scored). Tallying two hits a piece for the Panthers were co-captains Connor Capobianco and Jonny McLean. Jake Frechette also had two hits (2 doubles). Holliston next plays at Bellingham on Wednesday (3:45) and Thursday home versus Ashland (6:30 Adams Middle School - Holliston).
